ABOUT FORD RIDGE WIND
Ford Ridge Wind offers an opportunity for Illinois to take another step towards energy independence while diversifying the Ford County economy and providing long-term support to the rural farm community.
The project is located approximately four miles north of Gibson City and is expected to include between 43 to 58 modern wind turbines. The entire project will be built on private land with the consent of individual land owners south of the county line towards Gibson City and east to Highway 47.
AN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR FORD COUNTY
Ford Ridge Wind will create jobs and generate an entirely new source of sustainable long-term revenue for local schools, government services, and private property owners. The total direct financial impact to the region will be in the millions over the projected 30 year life of the project through tax revenues and direct land owner payments. Revenue from this project will also inject millions of dollars into the Ford County economy to support local merchants, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
